The race car originally started of as an 84BHP Smart 451 which was then stripped and completely rebuilt to its current state.
The engine has remained the same with additional Custom Turbo Induction and an Exhaust Manifold and Race Exhaust from S-Mann. The Injectors are from ASNU, having a variety of Injectors to test throughout the season if we so wish. Running a race clutch and mapped by Tony of Tune4Performance on our in house Rolling Road.
The Interior was stripped of as much as possible at the time and is undergoing further changes to reduce weight with even more items to be removed. A full Roll Cage was fitted which was initially a bolt in, but has now been welded in for better rigidity, Corbeau Seat and 5 Point Harness have been added with controls from Race Technology for the data logging with additional gauges for boost and water temperature too. An FIA approved fire extinguisher system is fitted for protection for the Driver.
The chassis has been heavily modified to help increase corner grip with the addition of Custom Built Bilstein Coilovers both front and rear which has enable us to drop the car a further 20mm from the previous GAZ system. The Front has fully adjustable wishbones for Camber adjustment with a stiffer anti roll bar and nylon bushes all round. A different suspension setup to standard the car is able to run zero bump steer making it a dream to drive hard. The brakes are Hi-Spec 4 pot callipers and vented discs at the front and a single pot caliper and disc conversion at the rear over the standard drum brakes. Wheels are 15” Compomotive Race Wheels with Hankook tyres for now.
Externally we are using body panels from S-Mann with all the paint work on all the race cars done by Automaster GB and graphics by Tony.
